Price: Free, Version: 0.4.2 -> 0.5.0 (iTunes)

MapTiler converts raster maps, images and geodata into a format suitable for JavaScript web applications, mobile devices and 3D visualisation. It provides the easiest way how to prepare raster geodata for mashups, apps and for Google Earth. It produces either a a folder with tiles and simple HTML viewer or the MBTiles archive.
Raster maps and images are transformed into tiles compatible with Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, Microsoft Bing, MapQuest or MapBox and can be used as overlay or standalone background maps. The maps can be also visualised in 3D form by Google Earth.
Developers can easily render raster geodata into map tiles suitable for Google Maps API mashups and native mobile applications (iPhone/iPad/Android) made with Apple MapKit, RouteMe or OSMDroid.
Simply upload generated directory into Amazon S3/CloudFront, Google Cloud Storage, Rackspace Cloud Files or other cloud CDN and your maps are online - ready for extremely fast distribution for large number of visitors. Traditional webhosting (Apache/MySQL/PHP/Linux) as well as free services such as DropBox or Google Drive can be used to distribute the maps.
Compatibility with OpenGIS WMTS standard allows to open the maps in several viewers and GIS software, including ArcGIS Desktop, QGIS or UDIG.
